Day one

We finally made it! Our trip to NYC started out rough with over an hour and a half wait for super shuttle (who will be hearing an earful from us when we get home) at LaGuardia, but once we made it to our hotel, we figured things would get better. We were able to check in, which was a bonus. However, our room has two single beds (that we were told we should be able to change tomorrow). It is clean, tiny, but had a nice view of the American Museum of Natural History.

We ate Shake Shack burgers sitting on a park bench in a drizzle. After we attempted to use the subway to head to Times Square only to find the station right outside our door is closed! Another change of plans. Because we were supposed to see Newsies at 3, we headed back to the hotel to change and then took a detour to get to Times Square. Funny story- turns out we bought tickets for Sunday afternoon not Saturday. Guess we don't get to see the Mets play; oh well next time.

After all our missteps, we had a great afternoon wandering the natural history museum and the museum of modern art. We ended our long crazy day at the Top of the Rock, which is the top of the Rockefeller Center. The views were amazing even if the wait for it was 30 minutes.

Good night for now. Pictures to come soon!
