2013

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone has had a great ending to 2012 and has had a great start to 2013. We are so glad to be moving onto a new year as 2012 was rather bumpy for us. Our one bright shinning spot was of course Joshua being born. Of course, we had many other happy memories, but are not sad to see this past year behind us.

Our holidays were busy as usual, hence the lack of posts. Nothing too crazy to report through the holidays. Raegan was scared of Santa again, but would get close enough to say hi. She did however know what Santa meant and was exceptionally well behaved through the month of December. It helped to have Bud, our elf, as a spy to keep her in check. Sometimes I wish I had a Bud to keep me in check, especially when dealing with a rambunctious 2 1/2 year old and a precocious now 8 month old.

Joshua entered 2013 at 8 months old, weighing somewhere around 18/19 pounds and 27 inches. He is crawling quickly around the house, climbing anything that doesn't move (and sometimes things that do move), and basically getting into anything and everything he can. He is still working on getting those teeth out, but can gum cooked carrots, bananas, puffs, Cheerios, yogurt drops, and baby Cheetos. He is going to eat us out of house and home before he's a year old! His smile makes your heart melt and his laugh is infectious, especially when he's giggling at Raegan being goofy.

Raegan is our big helper at almost 3 (yikes!). She can almost get herself dressed, just needing help with socks or shirts sometimes. She has quite the little attitude and is as stubborn as her mother (another yikes!). She is a lover and only sometimes a fighter. Her favorites include Doc McStuffins, her babies, and reading Pinkalicious or Fancy Nancy.

Michael and I are looking forward to a fresh start and a year full of dates. My Christmas present to him was 12 dates, sans children, to reconnect and in general just get out of the house. We don't know what the rest of the year holds for us, but we know as long as we have our family, we have all we need.
