Half birthday!

Joshua has made it to the halfway point! To my best measurements, he is 17 pounds! And 26/27 inches long. He goes to the doctor next week for his check up, so I'm curious to see if I'm on with them. He is really trying to crawl now; think he got interrupted by learning how to sit up. He just wants to be chasing his big sister around the house :). He also wants to be eating everything; I think he must be getting teeth because he is constantly chomping on everything he can fit in his mouth. Besides toys, he likes apples, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, and squash. I just tried peaches today and I think they were a little sour, but he still ate them up.

Five months and change

Joshua is now 5 months old and proving to the world what a handful he really is! He has learned to sit up and dump out toys from his basket to get what he wants. He is also rolling all over to the place to get places. At five months, he was 15 pounds 8 ounces and somewhere around 26 inches. He's getting some major thunder thighs :). To help add to those thighs, he has been eating solid food more often. We are actually up to three times a day, with oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, veggie and rice for lunch (only sweet potatoes so far, but he loves them!) and another fruit for dinner. He seems to finally have gotten the hang of eating and, I think, is catching up for lost time.

It's apple picking season! Due to poor apple conditions, we weren't able to pick apples; instead we had to just select them from boxes :(. It wasn't as fun, but we still managed to come home with a bunch of yummy apples. I think Raegan ate like five apples while we were there.

Joshua finally made it to his first Sox game of the year. It was an unfortunate loss (just like the end of the season). I also brought along Rae and the two little ones I watch. Luckily, there were a lot of helping hands. That same week was also the last game of the season, so we had our tailgating crew out in full gear.

In other news, Michael has finished his final season as cross country coach for Hubbard. It is unfortunately ending on a sour note, but they did finish 7th in city, which is the best they've done. We are very excited to have him back home at a normal time.

We made our annual trip to Christmas Mountain in the Dells with a much smaller crew this year. Nonetheless, we had a great time feeding the deer, swimming, and just relaxing. One new things we did this year was to take a mini train ride through the woods and to a pumpkin patch. Raegan really enjoyed the ride and getting to pick out her own pumpkin.
