33 weeks

Just a quick little update on the goings on from the Shunts.

Raegan continues to amaze us every day. She is making complete 4-5 word sentences that actually make sense and are structured correctly. Every day she seems to add more words to her vocabulary making her a walking, talking chatterbox! She has also made strides with potty training. We have been accident free during waking hours for over a week. She has even started to tell us when she needs to go. I am crossing my fingers that in the next seven weeks things continue this way and we have a relatively smooth transition once froggy arrives.

Speaking of froggy, we are seven short weeks, 49 long days, from meeting this new precious addition. The doctors say everything is on track and looking good. I have gestational diabetes again, but everything is well under control. It is so much under control that the doctor said I only need to test three times a day and will be allowed to go to 40 week as long as everything else stays the same. This is really awesome news to me since I wasn't sure I would be allowed to go past 39 since that is their policy with GD. This is give me a chance to go into labor on my own since if I don't it will result in another c-section. I am ok with whatever the outcome is as long as the result it a healthy baby. We have really made good progress on the nursery too; almost ready for froggy to be here.

Michael will be heading to Washington D.C. Next week with five of his students for a week of fun there. I am very jealous of his trip and wish I wasn't so far along that Rae and I could join him for a day or two. He is in a mad rush to get the yearbook finished before froggy gets here (the due date for yb is April 23). He is a little stressed about it, but I'm sure it will all turn out great. And once that is done, he will be so close to the end of the year, he won't have too much to worry about, so he can come home and enjoy the family.

I will be taking at least four weeks off after the birth. I am hoping for the same speedy recovery I had with Rae (knock on wood). Then it will just be Rae, Sammi, and froggy over the summer. I am losing Amelia due to the fact that her dad has been transferred to Texas for work. It is sad, but will be a nice break and good time for bonding over the summer. Then once fall starts, I will be watching my good friends baby boy.
